Beautiful feet in 3 steps

Battered during the summer with sand, salt and open shoes, feet need to be pampered!

Thanks to them, we can walk, dance, jump, move forward, backward… live! With 26 bones, 20 muscles, 16 joints, and 107 ligaments, nothing is left to chance in supporting us every day; constantly under stress, they can be prone to minor injuries… And at the end of summer, we see calluses of varying sizes appear. Indeed, under pressure, cells form in greater numbers, and dead skin accumulates on the heels or toes; if left untreated, this can quickly become painful. In summer, our feet are exposed and more vulnerable to damage: micro-trauma, salt, sand…

Today, we’re taking the opportunity to give our feet a little makeover: in three steps, they’ll be supple, soft, and free of imperfections.

Step 1: Erasing at home

Essential in foot care, exfoliation softens and smooths the skin by removing dead cells and minor surface roughness. Before exfoliating, you can soak your feet in water no warmer than 37°C (99°F), which will soften the skin and relax the muscles. After 10 minutes, it’s time to exfoliate: for this, Guinot’s Easy Scrub, an exfoliating body treatment with loofah fibers, is perfect. Apply a small amount and gently massage in circular motions, paying particular attention to drier areas. Rinse and dry your feet thoroughly to ensure they are completely dry.

Step 2: A makeover at the spa

If exfoliation isn’t enough and the calluses persist, you can remove them at home using a pumice stone. But be careful, the motion must be very gentle and only on the surface, because when the skin feels irritated, it reacts twice as strongly. Ideally, treat yourself regularly to the Foot Peeling Treatment at a Guinot Institute when calluses are too thick, to prevent potential cracks or fissures. Half an hour to reveal a fresh new look! After applying a specific gel that softens the skin and loosens dead cells, your esthetician removes imperfections with a professional spatula. Then comes the application of a nourishing and moisturizing treatment, perfect for your skin. The result: baby-soft, supple, and hydrated feet, completely smooth!

Step 3: Hydrate and nourish at home

The final, crucial step in foot care is hydration. To maintain healthy feet, the skin must be nourished and moisturized. Opt for the Long Life Foot Cream and its ultra-complete formula. With its Cellular Life Complex containing 56 active ingredients, it boosts and reactivates cell regeneration. Sweet Almond Oil nourishes and softens, while Liposkin restores the skin’s often-damaged barrier. Finally, Allantoin soothes, and Microcidin purifies and deodorizes. The right way to use it? Every evening, massage the cream into your feet; it’s relaxing, and your skin will stay soft and supple for a long time!
